Respiratory Syncytial Virus Respiratory Syncytial Virus Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common disease among children less than 2 years. Generally, RSV leads to infections in the lungs and the respiratory tract (Horne, et al, 2018). It also affects the older people where it can be serious to the premature babies and the old. It times, it can also affect the heart as it targets people with a weak immune system. The main reason for choosing the topic is so as to educate people on the best ways to do so as to protect children from RSV, an infected child may have problems even as he/she matures. With this, the virus needs to be eradicated completely so as to maintain a healthy population of all people (Pickles, & DeVincenzo, 2015). Looking more at the topic will also reduce infant mortality. As indicated, RSV mostly attacks children below two years who lack a strong immune system. The most important thing that should be known is the initial symptoms that a child may present with RSV. Generally, the first symptoms are a runny nose, dry cough, low-grade fever, sore throat, and a mild headache (Heikkinen, Valkonen, Waris, & Ruuskanen, 2015). With this, the patient should be taken to hospital for further analysis. In the project, the main goal is to provide awareness to all people so as to prevent more children from the effects of RSV. In setting up the goals, cognitive, affective and psychomotor objectives should all be considered. Under cognitive, the main goal is to increase the people’s knowledge of the effects of RSV. Under affective, people’s perception of not taking a respiratory problem serious should be changed so as to avoid future problems (Kim,), et al, 2017. Lastly, psychomotor objectives will assist in making parents take their children to search for medical assistance on RSV without anyone pushing them. With the explanation, it is evident that RSV is a serious disease among babies. There should be some clear ways laid out to prevent more children from being affected. With this, the best way is to provide awareness to all people on the symptoms of the infection and when to visit the hospital. References Heikkinen, T., Valkonen, H., Waris, M., & Ruuskanen, O.
