Topic: My term paper will discuss the effectiveness of compensation (raise, pay-for-performance, perquisites etc…) to employee retention.
Teacher’s comment about selected topic: OK but you are going to have to work hard to stay focused on the correlation between compensation and retention. If you submit a paper that is mainly on employee retention, that won’t meet the requirement for this class.
Assignment: Each student is responsible for selecting a specific topic within the area of Total Rewards and writing a scholarly paper. Students earn points for this assignment by conducting a literature review search and selecting 10 or more current (less than 5 years old) journal articles that fit the course content.Students should write a comprehensive summary of the key findings from literature review and discuss the application of those findings to the business world; i.e., the employee’s current or former place of employment.The submission should utilize APA 6th edition guidelines for format and citations, be typed, double-spaced.
Body of Paper – (minimum of 8-10 pages of original thought). Quotations, lists, tables, charts, etc. can be an excellent source of supporting material for the paper however, these are not counted toward the minimum paper length. The paper should include the following appropriately labeled section headers:
- Background and history of the topic
- Application to the Business World
Plagiarism will not be tolerated.Any student found to have plagiarized within any part of the term paper will rececive an automatic “F” in the course.
