PURPOSE The purpose of the assignment is to expose learners with the principles of counselling and how those principles are related to life experience. PART A (40%) The ethical guidelines for counselors are based on FIVE moral principles. They are fidelity, autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence and justice. Learners are required to; • Analyse the FIVE moral principles by referring to at least five existing ethical codes or reference books on guidance and counselling. Among the existing ethical codes is Malaysian Code of Ethics for Counselors, American Psychological Association (APA), Code of Ethics and American Counselling Association: Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. You may also refer to other ethical codes. • Support your analysis with relevant resources. PART B (20%) • Develop a case study for each of the moral principles discussed in Part A.
