A. Windshield Survey
The Windshield Survey is comprised of general qualitative observations that give you a snapshot of the community that you can capture as you drive/walk through the community. The demographic data can be obtained online, through the public library, county or township administration buildings. Use your Community Assessment Reference Guide to collect the data. Please address the following in a narrative format following APA guidelines:
1. Health Resources
a. Type of services available: health department, private MD, dentist, hospital clinic,
b. pharmacy, health promotion, mental health
c. School and occupational health services
d. Official and voluntary services
e. Self help and support groups

EDUCATION, CHILDREN, AND FAMILIES, WHO LIVE IN THE COMMUNITY (LAURA) The city of Coconut Creek has a population of 61,010 as of 2017 (World Population Review, 2019). The population included races such as White 75.6%, Black or African Americans 15.8%, Asian 4.4%, Hispanics 7.9 %, and others. The median age between male and females is 40. There are 49,192 adults which included 10,985 elderly adults. Children under five years old are 6.1%, and persons under 18 years old are 21.9% of the population (United States Census Bureau, n.d.). The City of Coconut Creek owner-occupied household is higher than the renter-occupied household. The majority of the married population (45.3%) and another type of families and individuals (nonfamily 38.6%, female 12.1, and male 4.0) own real stated (World Population Review, 2019). The statistics reveal that 63.3% of the population does not claim any religion, 16. % is Catholic, 12.7% are Evangelical Protestant, and there is 0.3% Orthodox (City-Data.com, n.d.). Libraries Coconut Creek has a library called North Regional – Broward College Library at 1100 Coconut Creek Boulevard, Coconut Creek, FL 33066 (telephone 954-201-2600). There are three other neighboring libraries which are Han Moran Collier City Learning Library, Margate Catherine Young Branch, and North Lauderdale Saraniero Branch (BROWARD.org, n.d.) Community Centers There are two community centers one is at 1100 Lyons Road, which is part of an urban park. At the park, there are playgrounds, pickleball courts, picnic tables, basketball courts, and a vast green area. The community center at Coconut Creek offers activities for all ages, senior citizens, adults, and kids. At this location, the community has access to a computer room and a conference room.
